The Guggenheim! While the exterior views of the architecture are staggering, the interior does not disappoint. As iwalk into the massive space I am struck by the unique shapes-- nothing but the floor is straight. The immense size of the soaring, curving walls dwarfs any human presence. The walls of glass, stone and titanium undulate and curve, caressing the space with sensuous forms and angles. I find it difficult to come up with adequate adjectives.
The permanent art installations play upon the unique architecture of the Guggenheim as they were commissioned before building completion The artists visited the site during construction and devised their creations to mimic architect Frank Gehry's theme. The result is a beautiful marriage of ideas and efforts that compliment the space.

- I am a woman of a certain age finding myself driven to create art and currently painting landscapes in oils. I’m inspired by the beauty found in nature, particularly the landscapes of Oregon. I love the challenge of a blank canvas, in choosing the colors, lines and contrast to communicate emotion and mystery. I’m drawn to the zing of complementary colors, the power of light against dark, the weight of lines and their ability to lead the viewer through a painting. What is beyond the road, what lies just over the horizon? These all draw me in and keep me coming back to the studio. There is always a challenge awaiting, always a need to push further, to expand my skills and stretch against my comfort level.
